Motor Vehicle Sales & Dealership

Motor Vehicle Sales & Dealership: barcode sales and POS, stock and warehouse, customer accounts and e-Invoice.

Challenges

  • Every vehicle is unique, so quantity-based stock logic simply does not work.
  • A vehicle's true cost (purchase + servicing + notary + marketing) is never totalled.
  • A trade-in vehicle is not recorded as a second purchase.
  • Vehicles sold on consignment get mixed up with our own stock.

Workflows

From vehicle purchase to sale

  1. The vehicle is created as a unique stock item by chassis number or plate.
  2. The purchase price and any later expenses are loaded onto the vehicle.
  3. On sale the profit is computed against the true cost.
  4. Notary and transfer documents are attached to the record.

Trade-in and consignment

  1. The trade-in vehicle enters stock on its own purchase document.
  2. A consignment vehicle is tracked as held stock.
  3. Once sold, a payout statement is produced for the owner.
