Tobacco Manufacturing

Tobacco Manufacturing: leaf intake and weighing slip, blend recipes, tax-stamp/serial (UID) tracking, excise duty and export.

Challenges

  • Weight, moisture and grade of leaf bought from growers stay on paper slips, so intake cost cannot be verified later.
  • Blend ratios live in the master blender's head, so the same product varies batch to batch and waste is unmeasured.
  • Tax stamps and serials are kept in a separate ledger, so units produced never reconcile with stamps consumed.
  • Excise duty and VAT are calculated on the same line, hiding true per-product profitability.

Workflows

From grower intake to warehouse

  1. The grower contract or auction record is linked to the customer account; planted area and crop declaration are entered.
  2. Leaf tobacco is weighed; a Weighing and Price Slip is issued and moisture/grade are recorded on the quality form.
  3. A lot number is assigned on stock receipt and the purchase amount is posted to the grower's account.

From blend to stamped product

  1. The blend recipe is defined as a bill of materials with variety ratios and target moisture.
  2. A production order is opened; consumed leaf lots are drawn from stock and moisture loss is recorded as waste.
  3. Tax stamps/serials (UID) are assigned; stamps consumed are drawn from stock and reconciled against units produced.

Documents

  • Leaf tobacco weighing and price slip
  • Grower purchase contract
  • Blend production order and recipe form
  • Tax stamp/serial consumption and stock listing

Reports

  • Batch-level blend deviation and waste report
  • Grower-level intake volume, average price and grade distribution
  • Tax stamp stock and production reconciliation
  • Per-product profitability with excise and VAT separated

Metrics

  • Leaf-to-product yield (%)
  • Moisture loss and processing waste rate
  • Blend cost per kilogram
  • Tax stamp reconciliation variance (units)

Compliance

  • Leaf intake, blending and tax stamps in one chain — no three separate ledgers.
  • Moisture and grade come from the quality form, so intake cost stays verifiable after the fact.
  • Excise sits on its own line, so real per-product profitability is visible.

FAQ

Can I contract grower purchases and print the weighing slip from the system?

Yes. The purchase contract is linked to the account, and the slip is issued with weight, moisture and grade, then posted to the purchase chain.

Can I fix the blend recipe and get the same result every batch?

Yes. The blend is defined as a bill of materials; the production order compares consumed quantities against the recipe and reports deviation and waste.

Can I track tax stamps and serial numbers?

Yes. Tax stamps are a serial-tracked stock item consumed on the production order and reconciled against units produced.

Can I see excise duty separately?

Yes. Excise is calculated as a separate tax line, and its ledger account is read from a mapping table you can change per company.

Can I track exports separately from domestic sales?

Yes. The foreign trade module keeps the export file separate, and unstamped export batches are segregated from domestic stock.
