Fishmonger

Fishmonger: barcode sales and POS, stock and warehouse, customer accounts and e-Invoice.

Challenges

  • Species that cannot be sold during the closed season still reach the counter.
  • Prices change daily and the shelf label no longer matches the till.
  • Ice melt and drip loss are never recorded as shrinkage.
  • When asked, the wild-caught or farmed origin and the traceability paperwork cannot be produced.

Workflows

Daily counter opening

  1. The market or supplier purchase enters stock with species and origin data.
  2. The day's price per kilogram is set, and scale and till read the same figure.
  3. Species listed in the closed-season calendar are blocked from sale.

Waste and day-end

  1. Ice and drip loss plus unsold product are posted on a waste slip.
  2. The quantity left at close of day is confirmed by a count.
  3. The shrinkage ratio is reported by species.
