Greengrocer

Greengrocer: barcode sales and POS, stock and warehouse, customer accounts and e-Invoice.

Challenges

  • Prices change several times a day; the label and the till no longer agree.
  • Loss from spoilage and bruising is high but never recorded.
  • Wholesale-market purchases arrive on a slip, and the account and stock entries are keyed in by hand at night.
  • Off-the-books counter sales have no link to stock.

Workflows

From the wholesale market to the stall

  1. The market purchase is linked to the supplier account and to a cash or payable entry.
  2. The product enters stock in kilograms.
  3. The day's selling price is updated from the price list.

Waste and day-end

  1. The spoiled or bruised quantity is posted on a waste slip.
  2. At day-end the till is counted and stock is closed.
  3. The waste ratio and the daily margin are reported.
