Poultry & Eggs

Poultry & Eggs: production orders and BOM, stock and warehouse, quality and reporting.

Challenges

  • Feed consumption is not kept per house, so the feed conversion ratio cannot be worked out by flock.
  • Collected eggs are booked without size grading, so stock and price differences never reconcile.
  • Eggs set in the hatchery are never matched to chicks hatched, so hatchability stays unknown.
  • House entry, vaccination and medication records stay in a notebook, so documents cannot be assembled for an audit.

Workflows

From chick placement to flock closing

  1. The chick batch from the hatchery is recorded with house and flock number.
  2. Daily feed use, mortality and weight checks are posted to the flock card.
  3. At flock closing, total feed is compared with live weight and the feed conversion ratio comes out.

From egg collection to dispatch

  1. Eggs collected from the house are taken into stock with a daily production entry.
  2. After size grading, each class separates into its own stock item and lot.
  3. After tray and case packing, the delivery note is issued with lot and shelf-life date.

FAQ

Can I see the feed conversion ratio by flock?

Yes — daily feed use is posted to the flock card and, at closing, it is set against live weight to compute FCR.

Can I keep eggs in separate stock by size class?

Yes — each calibre is defined as its own stock item, and after grading the quantities move to their own lot.

Can I track hatchability?

Yes — eggs set and chicks hatched meet on the same production order, and the hatch rate is reported per batch.

Can I keep biosecurity records in the system?

Yes — vaccination, medication and house entry records are attached to the flock as quality control forms.

Can I see which house is losing money?

Yes — feed, medication and labour costs accumulate on the flock card, and profitability is reported by house.
